The Maha Manthralayam at Elur Village near Thookkanaicken Palayam on its East and Sathyamangalam-638506 on its West in Erode District was founded during the year 2012 by Mr.K.P. Kulandaivel a benevolent member hailing from an Agricultural family in Koothampoondi near Sakthi Sugars Ltd., at Appakudal in Bhavani Taluk, Erode District.

The seeds sown for the establishment of Maha Manthralayam, a spiritual and tourist center near Sathyamangalam is by Mr.P.M. Palaniswamy, a notable personality, educationist and agriculturist of Paruvachi village in Bhavani Taluk. Mr.K.P.Kulandaivel is now a Rotarian of Sathyamangalam Chapter and is a declared President of the Club for the ensuing year. He is an active director of one “Bharathi Shanthi Illam”- a Benevolent Home for the Aged situated near Sathyamangalam. The Maha Manthralayam within a compact area of 4 acres of land on the foothills of Western ghats has put up a conference hall to attend to the devotees and the visitors who arrive all over from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, temples, birds park, flower and fruit tree gardens etc. Certainly it is serving to its visitors and devotees as a non-profit centre.

Special poojas are performed and Annadhana food is served to the participants. The Maha Manthralayam has planted 27 Devine trees to nourish the wellbeing of the people who born on 27 related Natshatra (Star) occasions as per Hindu Astrology.
Further, there are 7 Nava Graha trees to commemorate the effects of 7 typical Nava Grahas on human beings. Devotees use to worship the Concerned Natshatra tree and Nava Graha tree for their wellbeing and perform poojas. In particular, the people who face problems in getting them married and getting children are stated to be getting solutions spiritually. The founder arranges to give solutions astrologically to the needy people who seek for a particular problem or an endeavor. The method of approach and solution given by the founder is of psychological and astrological.
The Maha Manthralayam is having a garden consisting of flower trees, fruit trees and selected herbal medicinal plants. The fruits and vegetables are provided to the visitors on nominal costs. It has also got a birds park consisting of many wild turkeys, hens, love birds, ducks, gooses, parrots, fancy fish items etc and the same are sold at nominal costs to the visitors who love them. Children from different schools and colleges use to visit the Manthralaya and enjoy very much.
The founder Mr.K.P. Kulandaivel who is being a multi talented personality gives them excellent talks on the subjects they like. The Co-founder Mr.P.M. Palaniswamy uses to visit Maha Manthralayam very often and offer his valuable guidances and suggestions for its improvements. The Maha Manthralayam here is just near to the Sathyamangalam Wildlife Santuary and Tiger Reserve. It is an excellent and interesting opportunity to the visitors to enjoy and spend their leisure time happily and to the devotees to get their grievances solved to their maximum satisfaction.
